PAUL MULLIN says reaching 100 points is a "magnificent achievement" but the striker insists it will count for nothing if Wrexham don't go on and clinch automatic promotion.

Phil Parkinson's men thrashed Oldham Athletic 5-1 on Saturday to break the club record for most ever points in a season, eclipsing the 98 gathered by Andy Morrell's side in the 2011-12 season.

But the National League title remains up for grabs with Wrexham being pushed all the way by Notts County following a remarkable campaign.

The Reds go into this afternoon's clash against Halifax Town at The Shay with a three point lead and game in hand on their rivals, who they host on Monday.

With six matches to go, Mullin knows there can be no let-up from Wrexham in the quest to secure a return to the Football League following a 15-year exile.

“There is still a long way to go," said the 43-goal leading scorer.

“One hundred points is a magnificent achievement but ultimately if it doesn’t lead to promotion, it doesn’t mean anything.

“We have just got to keep concentrating on each game and take three points at a time if we can.

“We move onto Halifax and hopefully go out and win it."

Wrexham are enjoying a record breaking season but midfielder Tom O'Connor, who made his return from injury as a substitute against Oldham, says pats on backs can wait with the title still on the line.

"Any other season and we are up by now," said O'Connor.

"There is still a lot to play for, we know how good Notts County are and how close they are to us.

"There is definitely no time to be looking back at what we have done, we need to push on and win as many points as we can."

Wrexham head to Halifax on the back of a 28-game unbeaten league run and Parkinson is eyeing up another victory.

"We will do our homework on Halifax and get ready to play at our very best," he added.

"If we do that we will have a great chance."
