WREXHAM are counting down the games in the title race and Phil Parkinson wants as many players as possible available for selection between now and the final day showdown at Torquay United.

Notts County beat Altrincham 2-0 on Tuesday to return to the top of the National League on goal difference from Wrexham who have two games in hand.

The Reds have seven matches remaining in the quest for automatic promotion and while Parkinson is not short of options after compiling a strong squad, it's a case of the more the merrier as far as he is concerned.

Midfielder Tom O'Connor and wing-back Bryce Hosannah are back to full fitness following hamstring injuries while Anthony Forde has returned to training after a spell on the sidelines due to personal issues.

Parkinson says players who haven't featured recently have already been put through their paces this week ahead of Saturday's home game with Oldham Athletic.

"The lads who haven't been playing came in and had a practice game on Monday, the likes of Tom and Bryce, which was important for us," said the Reds' boss.

"We are gearing the training now to get as many players available for the last seven games.

"Tom and Bryce should be available, Anthony needs another good week because he has had a period of inactivity."

Parkinson hoped that Aaron Hayden, out with a calf problem sustained in the 3-3 FA Cup fourth round draw with Sheffield United on January 29, would be available by now but the centre-back is still not 100 per cent.

"Aaron has still got work to do unfortunately," said Parkinson, definitely without goalkeeper Rob Lainton who sustained knee ligament damage in the 2-1 win at Bromley and is set to miss the rest of the season.

"Aaron's tendon is just not healing quick, there is just that last little bit we need to heal.

"He is not a long way off but it is a frustration."
