PHIL PARKINSON hopes to have wing-backs Anthony Forde and Jacob Mendy available for selection this weekend.

The promotion push is put on hold as Wrexham face Farnborough in Saturday’s FA Cup second round tie at The Racecourse.

Both Forde and Mendy are recovering from hamstring injuries but the pair are closing in on a return.

Forde has missed the last three matches while Mendy has been absent since he limped off in the 6-0 victory over Torquay on September 24.

“Fordey and Mendy are both very close and we are hoping to get them involved for the weekend in some part,” said Parkinson.

The return of the duo will be timely with Bryce Hosannah facing another spell on the sidelines after sustaining a hamstring problem in Saturday’s 2-0 home win against Aldershot which took Wrexham back to the top of the National League.

“There’s some damage in there so we will know more when the specialist sees the MRI scan,” said Parkinson.

Harry Lennon and Reece Hall-Johnson continued their comebacks from lengthy injuries with a run-out for the reserves against Stoke City yesterday.

Goalkeeper Rob Lainton, who has been an unused substitute for the last four games after recovering from a serious wrist injury, also played.

“Rob and Harry needed another 90 minutes. That is the benefit of having this B team and getting these games,” said Parkinson.

“It has been frustrating for Reece but he needed another 11 v 11 game so it was a great opportunity for him in the B team to get himself closer to first team action.

“Rob, Harry and Reece have had significant periods out and it was an important game for them."
