CEFN DRUIDS have now set a standard as they look to make it back-to-back wins in the league.

Neil Ashton’s side ended a four-match winless sequence with a brilliant 1-0 win at Guilsfield and another victory is the target at home to Llanidloes tomorrow.

“I spoke to the players after the game and I was so proud of them,” said Ashton. “One of the first things I said was as a defender there’s no other result that pleases me more than 1-0 away from home.

“The shift they put in was immense.”

Back in the ranks now are Phil Mooney and Ross Weaver, while Ashton was thrilled with the displays of 17-year-old Steff Jones at the back and Emmanuel Lawal further forward.

“To bounce back with a performance after the Colwyn Bay game was a real pleasing thing for us,” added Ashton.

Druids are now 10th, but they’re only three points adrift of the top-four.

Looking ahead to the Llanidloes match, Ashton added: “They lost at the weekend so they will be smarting after that. It’s going to be a big game and we have got to play to our strengths.”

Jaden Timmis and Adam Stephens are suspended, but Tom Riley and James Webb return.

Better weather and a positive outcome - those are the things Buckley Town will be looking for tomorrow.

Dan Moore’s side have home advantage versus Guilsfield tomorrow, eight days after their last run-out.

This was a 4-1 home loss to unbeaten leaders Colwyn Bay in atrocious conditions at The Globe. A fifth win of the season tomorrow will keep Buckley in fourth spot.

Tonight, second-placed Llandudno welcome Porthmadog, while Prestatyn Town head west tomorrow to Colwyn Bay.
