WREXHAM AFC has confirmed they will face Spanish Segunda Division side, CD Leganes as part of their pre-season preperations in Spain. 

The friendly will take place on Thursday, July 21 with a 10am kick-off time at the Hotel Golf Campoamor. 

Supporters are invited to attend, with free entry confirmed, as is the case for the fixture against Nottingham Forest U21's at the same venue two days later - although fans are advised the venue is limited to a 300 spectator capacity.

The club have also confirmed that the planned practice match on Tuesday will now be a straight open training session following the confirmation of the CD Leganes clash but spectators are still welcome to attend from 9.30am. 

Manager Phil Parkinson said: “We’re pleased to have a game against CD Leganes. They are a good side, and it will be a really good test for us.

“Obviously this match does change the schedule for this week, and Tuesday’s training session will now start at 9.30am – supporters are still welcome to attend, as they are welcome to watch the game on Thursday.”

The Reds arrived in Spain on Sunday, having flown out after Saturday’s 5-2 victory against Nantwich Town in another pre-season friendly.

The tour matches against CD Leganes and Nottingham Forest Under-21s are then followed by a home friendly against Macclesfield Town at the Racecourse Ground on Saturday July 30.
