PHIL PARKINSON hailed "clinical" and "ruthless" Wrexham following a brilliant first half performance against Altrincham.

More than 10,000 fans at The Racecourse saw Wrexham score four goals in the opening period, with the Reds' three leading scorers - Paul Mullin (2), Jordan Davies and Ollie Palmer - on target.

The 4-0 victory extended the unbeaten run to 15 games and keeps second placed Wrexham seven points behind leaders Stockport County, who scored a late winner to beat Solihull Moors 1-0, with six games to go in the race for automatic promotion.

Parkinson was delighted with the finishing as the Reds ended a run of seven successive home matches on a high.

"We feel we have got threats going forward and we have shown that today," said Parkinson.

"We were clinical when we got the chances.

"We played really well against Solihull on Friday but just lacked that clinical edge to our game, and that was the difference today; when we got the chances we were ruthless.

"It was the seventh home game on the trot which is unprecedented, and there is always that worry that there could be a bit of mental staleness in the group, and the staff as well.

"But I thought we blew any doubt of that away with the way we went about our business in the first 45 minutes, and I was really pleased with the result.

"It keeps us on a very good run and momentum heading the right way."
