THE return of two key performers has put a smile on the face of North Wales Crusaders’ head coach Anthony Murray.

Jono Smith (pictured) and Brad Brennan made welcome appearances as the Crusaders made it three-wins-out-of-three in League 1 this season with a 54-6 win at London Skolars.

Next up is Sunday’s huge trip to fellow unbeaten side Swinton Lions, with the duo set to be key figures again.

“Jono Smith and Brad Brennan are massive impact players off the bench,” said Murray.

“It was good to see them both back there.

“It was good to see Jono make his long-awaited return.”

Meanwhile, Swinton Lions centre Max Roberts says his side owes the Crusaders one following the Challenge Cup clash between the sides earlier this year.

In the third round of the prestigious competition, it was the Crusaders who came out on top 20-14 at Heywood Road.

“We’ve all got that Challenge Cup tie in the back of our minds and we’ll definitely be talking that up and we owe them one, don’t we, at the end of the day,” Roberts told the Swinton YouTube channel.
