CONFIDENT not arrogant - that's how Steve Parkin described his side after registering a seventh successive win to keep Wrexham on course for a league and cup double.

The Reds came from behind to beat Notts County 2-1 at Meadow Lane and reach the FA Trophy semi-finals, and they will discover their opponents in this afternoon's draw.

Wrexham, third in the National League and six points behind leaders Stockport County, are in a rich vein of form and after getting the better of promotion rivals County, assistant manager Parkin said: "It just builds confidence and not arrogance - there is a big difference.

"The squad are confident at the moment, they are relishing the way that we play.

"We are creating opportunities to score goals - we have proved that in the games we have had - and we know that whoever we play against, we are going to give them a really hard game, and I think we did that tonight.

"You just want to win every game that you play.

"We focus on winning football matches; we know that the fans love us to win - the support was incredible, 6-700 people on a Friday night in this competition is amazing - and nothing gives us more pleasure to go into the next round full of confidence, and hopefully get a decent result.

"We will have to see when the draw comes on Monday."

Dan Jarvis equalised just before the break and in-form midfielder James Jones bagged an 89th minute winner, scoring for the second game in a row to leave Wrexham one game away from the final.

Parkin revealed that the opportunity to play at Wembley came up during the half-time team-talk.

"That got a mention at half-time as well, that we are one step away from walking out at Wembley which is a great honour," added Parkin.

"I have been there a couple of times, fortunate to be there as a player and also be there as a management team.

"It is a wonderful experience and it is something that the lads have got to try their very best to do in the next round."
