PHIL PARKINSON has been given food for thought and a welcome selection dilemma going into tomorrow's National League clash against Barnet at The Hive.

The Reds' boss rang the changes for Tuesday's FA Cup fourth qualifying round replay against Marine and also switched to a 4-2-3-1 system for the first time this season.

Wrexham, second best in Saturday's first meeting between the sides, produced a much better performance and won 2-0 to set-up a first round tip to League Two Harrogate next month, but Parkinson now has to decide who be in the starting XI when the mid-table Reds go in search of valuable league points against the Bees.

"You put players in the team and I was looking forward to watching them," said Parkinson.

"For players to step up to the plate and say. 'I want to play, I want to be a part of it' and put pressure on the lads who have had plenty of opportunities.

"The supporters will be driving away thinking 'interesting team selection for the weekend'."

Midfielder Dan Jarvis made his first appearance of the campaign and there was also a debut for summer signing Shaun Brisley, with the centre-back now fully fit after sustaining a knee injury in pre-season.

The duo both impressed Parkinson who said: "It's good that players have come in and given us plenty to think about.

"I thought Jarv gave us a bit of quality, getting on the ball in tight areas and he was unlucky not to get a goal in the first half.

"Bris has been a bit unlucky because he got the injury in pre-season which set him back. It has taken us a while to get him up to speed but he is a leader, a proper character, and I thought he was really good.

"We will look at how those two recover from this game going into the weekend."
