TONIGHT’S game is crucial in so many ways for Wrexham.
But here’s the chance to get all the pent-up frustration from Saturday’s abandoned game at Aldershot Town out of the system by beating one of the teams who will be battling it out for the title with Wrexham this season.
Chesterfield have started well and have the National League’s leading scorer in Kabongo Tshimanga, who is averaging a goal a game.
But Wrexham’s frontline pairing of Paul Mullin and Jake Hyde - they both scored at Aldershot before the game was ended prematurely - are forming a decent partnership.
And the Reds might need both of them to score in what you hope will be a rip-roaring night under the lights at The Racecourse.
With Wrexham not having a game this weekend, it’s important they take all three points - and I think they will with the kid from Coedpoeth, Jordan Davies, sending the Reds faithful home happy with the winner.
NICK HARRISON: Wrexham 2 Chesterfield 1
