LUKE YOUNG has joined an exclusive list of Wrexham stars who have won two success Player of the Season awards at The Racecourse.

The midfielder, who is top scorer with 11 goals this term to help the Reds challenge for promotion, is the first back-to-back winner since 1995.

The decision was also taken to award Young last season’s title too, with the 28-year-old enjoying a consistent campaign before it ended early because of the coronavirus pandemic.

Young joins prolific striker Gary Bennett, who won the gong in 1993/94 and 1994/95, Mike Williams and Kevin Russell as the four players who are double winners since the award was introduced in 1975.

As well as being named the Players’ Player of the Season and Media Player of the Season for 2020-21, Young won the Mold Reds, Shropshire Reds and Rhos Reds awards.

Davies scooped the Kings Mill Reds, London Reds and Junior Dragons gongs, with Reece Hall-Johnson taking the Isle of Man Reds title.
