GOALKEEPER Craig Ross has been rewarded for his excellent form with a contract extension.

The 31-year-old this week agreed a new two-year deal, keeping him at Woking until the summer of 2023.

A former Woking academy graduate, Ross returned to the club from Leatherhead after a ten-year absence in 2018.

Since returning to the Kingfield Stadium, Ross helped Woking clinch promotion via the National League South play-offs in 2018-19 as well as play a starring role as the Cards finished 10th last season in the National League.

His contribution was recognised as Ross completed a clean sweep of club awards last term, picking up the Fans’, Players’ and Manager’s Player of the Season accolades.

Recognised as one of the best goalkeepers in the division, Ross has kept 11 clean sheets this season and picked up the club Player of the Month awards for December, January, and February.

Manager Alan Dowson was delighted to keep his number one at the club, saying: "Rossy is the best 'keeper in the league, we are delighted to keep him."

Before returning to Woking, Ross enjoyed an impressive career in non-league as well as a brief spell in the Football League with Barnet.

On last season's accolades, he said: “Obviously it was great to win the awards, but that’s gone now, and I want to be even better this season.

“Then as a team we want to set the bar high for ourselves too and try and improve on last season. I see no reason why we can’t."
