LOSING against play-off rivals Notts County was disappointing but putting together an attack for the final 12 games will give Dean Keates a bigger headache.
Wrexham went down 1-0 to the Magpies as the Reds suffered just a second defeat in 15 outings.
Keates' side - without injured striker Kwame Thomas who faces a lengthy spell on the sidelines - took the game to County and created a host of chances in the first 20 minutes.
But after Jordan Ponticelli - Thomas' replacement - went off injured on the half hour mark, Dior Angus was left as the only recognised striker and Wrexham were far less of a threat.
The Magpies didn't look like scoring but they broke the deadlock 10 minutes from time following a corner.
Wrexham, down to seventh in the National League, will aim to bounce back at home to title-chasing Torquay on Monday.
