DIOR ANGUS believes having two in-form strikers who are hitting it off augers well for Wrexham's promotion prospects.

Angus arrived at The Racecourse from Barrow on transfer deadline day in the winter window and has impressed in the Reds' attack, scoring his second goal in Saturday's 4-1 win over Wealdstone.

Strike partner Kwame Thomas bagged a brace in the victory - Angus had the assist for the second - to take his tally for the season to eight goals, with five coming during a fantastic February for the leading marksman.

Victory took Wrexham up to fifth in the National League and Angus, who helped Barrow clinch the title last season, believes there are more wins to come if the duo continue scoring.

"It was good to get a goal," said Angus.

"It is always nice to get on the scoresheet, that is what I am in the team to do. To set Kwame up for one is even nicer.

"Kwame played well and he deserved his two goals.

"It is good when you get a win and both strikers score because I think it gives everyone behind us confidence that them times that we might not be playing well, there are still goals in the team.

"We have shown at the minute if me and Kwame are in the goals, we win the game.

"Youngy (Luke Young) chipped in with a really good goal as well so it's good stuff."

Angus has only been on the losing side once since he joined Wrexham, the 3-0 defeat at Aldershot on February 20, and he feels there is more to come from him.

"To only have lost once in seven games since I have been here is positive," said Angus.

"A couple of goals and just building on each performance.

"I am looking forward to the rest of the season and seeing what we can achieve."

Wrexham trailed 1-0 following a lacklustre first-half performance against Wealdstone but it was a different story after the interval.

The Reds were on the front foot and capped a superb attacking display with four goals and a win.

Angus wants a repeat of that showing on a regular basis, and especially when the Reds face the leading sides.

"We were poor first half and we said that we needed to press the ball better and keep the ball better when we won it back, and we did that second half," added Angus.

"If we can do that moving forward, I think we be blowing teams away.

"That is what we are about and we need to be playing on the front foot more.

"We need to be better from the start because when we play the better teams at the top - no disrespect to Wealdstone - we could be two or three down at half-time.

"It is a bit of a wake-up call for us, but it shows that we can do it moving forward and that is where we need to be at."
