TYLER FRENCH admits joining a club that is on the verge of having two famous Hollywood stars as owners had pulling power.

The 21-year-old centre-back has signed a six-month contract at Wrexham after leaving League Two side Bradford City by mutual consent.

Actors Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenny are on the verge of completing their takeover at The Racecourse and French is looking forward to being part of the journey.

“It was an appeal because with the takeover and those two being a part of the club, I think it is a big statement,” said the centre-back.

"Financially the club will be better off and it is a massive, exciting project.

“Their names, it just catches your eye and I am looking forward to being a part of it.”

Reynolds and McElhenney want success at The Racecourse and French, who made 25 appearances for Bradford but was limited to two substitute appearances under Bantams caretaker managers Mark Trueman and Conor Sellars, is looking to end the Football League exile this season.

“Thirteen seasons is a long time,” said French.

“Hopefully this season we can change it but if not then it is definitely a project for next season.

“But my aim is to go up this season.”

French believes a change of scenery was needed to kick-start his career.

“Things weren’t going badly there for me, it wasn’t a case of them wanting me out of the club,” said French.

“It was just something I wanted to do. I wanted to be playing more games and I think it was in my best interest for me to go out and play games to take the next step in my career.”
