ADI YUSSUF wants to get one over his former strike partner on Saturday and help Wrexham get back to winning ways.

Dean Keates' side went down 1-0 to Altrincham in midweek and will look to bounce back against leaders Torquay who have ex-Reds striker Danny Wright in excellent form.

Wright and Yussuf were regulars on the scoresheet for Solihull during the 2018-19 campaign, earning the latter a move to Blackpool.

Yussuf has scored four goals since joining Wrexham on loan from the League One club and he wants to add to his tally at Plainmoor whilst making it an unhappy reunion for Wright.

"Danny was my strike partner at Solihull, he is a good lad and a very good player," said Yussuf.

"I got on with him really well.

"He has started off well for Torquay but we are opposition now so hopefully we beat them on Saturday.

"I am happy with my performances. I am just getting the games in, getting the minutes in and getting sharper.

"I am starting to feel stronger so there is more to come from me and hopefully more goals.

"That is the aim. I want to help the team by working hard and hopefully score goals."

Missed chances proved costly for Wrexham against Altrincham who scored the only goal when the Reds switched off at a corner.

But Yussuf, who has seen Wrexham drop to seventh in the table, is confident of a positive reaction at Torquay.

"We played some good stuff but games are defined by goals and we didn't take our chances," said Yussuf.

"But we stick together and we go again on Saturday.

"We have got a tight-knit group, a good set of lads, and I am sure we will bounce back against Torquay.

"They are a good side and top of the league for a reason.

"We are going to give 100 per cent and hopefully get a good result."
