IT'S top-versus-bottom and The New Saints will be expected to win but Cefn Druids goalkeeper Michael Jones insists that does not mean the pressure is off his side.

Basement side Druids, with just five points from their opening 10 matches, host a TNS outfit who have a six point lead at the summit as they attempt to wrestle back the Cymru Premier title from Connah's Quay Nomads.

Scott Ruscoe's side are favourites to leave The Rock with victory but Druids will be up for the fight as ex-Wrexham stopper Jones knows they need points to improve their lowly league position.

"The league is strong at the moment and every game is a hard game," said Jones.

"TNS are not the reigning champions but given the fact they are always up there, it is going to be one of the toughest challenges we have had so far this season.

"But I wouldn't say the pressure is off us.

"Within the changing room, the pressure is on more than it ever has been to be truthfully honest.

"We haven't started the season how we wanted to so we have got to try and kick-start the season at some point, and the best place to do that is the next game which is TNS.

"The pressure is on us as individuals and as a changing room we put a lot of pressure on ourselves but from the outside, it is a free hit because no-one is expecting us to get anything."

Druids picked up a point in their last outing, coming from behind to draw 1-1 at Penybont on Sunday, with the performance and result giving Jones renewed hope that the Ancients can turn the corner.

"We were looking to win the game but it was a good result after conceding," added Jones.

"A point is a building block for us.

"We have gone away from home to a team that have previously beaten us at home and we have got a point against them so there are some signs of improvement and with the performance."
