THE games come thick and fast in October but Kwame Thomas is not looking beyond Boreham Wood - and being in the Wrexham team for the big kick-off.

The Reds start a 13th campaign in non-league with an opening day home match against The Wood on October 3.

It is the first of eight games during the month, with Wrexham playing seven league matches and an FA Cup fourth qualifying round tie.

But Thomas is just focussed on The Wood, who reached the play-offs in 2019-20.

“All we can do is take it game by game,” said Thomas.

“It is Saturday, Tuesday, Saturday, Tuesday, Saturday, and I think everyone in the squad will be used in all those games.

“It is good that we have got strength in numbers in areas and possibly even more to come in so we will be able to deal with it.

“But all we can do is only focus on Boreham Wood.”

Summer signing Thomas opened his account for his new club by bagging a brace as Wrexham beat Cefn Druids 4-1 in their first pre-season outing on Tuesday.

The striker is targeting more goals in the remaining friendlies so he plays his way into Reds' boss Dean Keates' plans for the clash with The Wood.

"When I am given the opportunity on the pitch, try and do what I did against Druids which is score goals and cause problems," said Thomas.

“Obviously as a striker you are judged on your goals so if you keep scoring, you keep playing.

“If you don’t score, you won’t play. It is that simple really.”
