CONNAH’S QUAY NOMADS will need to play the game of their lives against FK Sarajevo, but whatever you throw at Andy Morrison’s men in the last few years, they have never shirked a challenge.

They will not be shy and timid in a game of this magnitude and Andy will have his players fully prepared, as usual.

Sarajevo, the Bosnian champions, were knocked out by Celtic in the qualifying rounds last summer, and they will be firm favourites in this tie.

But that’s just how Andy likes it, he relishes the David v Goliath moments.

There are no two-legged ties this time around so in a one-off game at the Cardiff City Stadium, I’m certain that the Nomads will leave an impression!

After Davis Keillor-Dunn’s departure to Oldham Athletic, Dean Keates is down to the bare bones.

Dean has been in the game long enough to understand that players come and go, but with Elliott Durrell returning and Jamie Reckord signing it’s time to start thinking about how next season will potentially pan out.

There is no doubt that COVID-19 has affected every club’s budget and the most important thing is that Wrexham stays afloat.

From the outside at the moment, it doesn’t look as though Wrexham could be a threat to win the league or even get into that top seven, so there is a huge challenge ahead for Dean and the boys in this campaign. But there are other clubs in the same boat.

There are so many players out there looking for clubs and I know that Dean is speaking to agents every day, and he knows the calibre and character of player that he needs for this very difficult league.

A 20 man squad is needed, but at this present time, I would be happy if he could assemble a squad of 15 experienced players and see if there any youngsters ready to make the step up. It’s hard to be very confident at the moment, but there is always hope and belief.

What a season it’s been for young Neco Williams, the Wrexham-born youngster at Liverpool, but that’s nothing compared to what will happen in the 20/21 season.

My opinion is that he should go out on loan and play as many games as he can so that he will be on the plane to the Euro’s next summer.

There are whispers that Cardiff City are interested in taking him next season, which could be a great match.

Looking at how his Liverpool team-mate, Rhian Brewster, fared at Swansea last season, it seems that South Wales is a good place to gain experience and learn the craft.

Some say he already has one foot in Ryan Giggs’ squad, and he certainly has the quality to be in there. But you can’t buy experience so I hope Klopp lets him play a full season in the Championship for a team that’s going to threaten promotion, so that he matures nicely for the summer to come.

But what a player we have for Wales in years to come, and I can’t wait to see how he develops.
