DANNY DAVIES has become Connah's Quay Nomads' second new signing of the summer.
The 24-year-old Welshman joins the Cymru Premier champions following a successful two-year spell with Cymru North winners Prestatyn Town Neil Gibson - bossed by ex-Nomads' coach - where he was crowned manager's player of the season 12 months ago.
Davies, a self-described attacking wing-back, turned to football after his professional cricket career with Northamptonshire was ended by an arm injury.
The former Wales Under-17 international started his football career with Prestatyn before joining Chester City's academy ahead of a switch to cricket.
Having signed for Nomads, Davies said: “It’s a great honour to be asked to come and join the champions and there’s going to be a lot riding on next year to back it up and I’m excited about that.”
Nomads' boss Andy Morrison added: “We’re delighted to sign Danny. He’s a young player who, I believe, has the qualities to make a major impact at Connah’s Quay Nomads and in the Cymru Premier.”
