HERE’S the latest of The Leader’s Top Ten series featuring Chester’s John Johnston and Greenfield manager Scott Beck.

Firstly Johnston talks to Chester’s official Twitter feed in a special takeover question and answer session. The winger was signed from Altrincham in January.

If Chester were to sign two players from your old team Altrincham who would you choose? Jake Moult. One of the best players I’ve played with; an outstanding leader on and off the field. And Jordan Hulme - we just click styles are the same and a great lad.

Who are three best strikers you have ever played with? 1 Andrew Kinsey (Leek Town). Showed me the ropes; 2 Jordan Hulme. Class; 3 Anthony Malbon. Outstanding.

Favourite match and goal? Blyth, play-offs last year, 2-0 down to 2-2 and winning it on pens. Favourite goal was for Salford against Harrogate.

Since the lockdown, what has been the day to day life like for a non league footballer? Missing football and golf to be honest. Loving the family time but fed up of painting fences and gardening!

Do you have any pre-match rituals? Always the last out of the tunnel on a match day.

As a player, has the experience of being at a fans owned club been any different for you?

As a player it’s slightly different, but in a good way as everyone care for the club’s best interests, not just on the field but also off.

What are your go-to songs to get you motivated before a big game? Summer of 69 and and bit of Rick Astley.

You play on both the left and right wings but what’s your favourite position? I don’t mind - wherever I’m told! But if I had to choose one I’d pick the right!

Which fans are better.Alty or Chester? Tough one as they are two of the best sets of fans in the league! Both brilliant. But if I had to pick one I’d pick the Blues as they take thousands away.

You played at Alty and now Chester. From the two teams name your starting 11: Tommo; Densmore, Livesey, Jones (Alty), Taylor; Moult; Poole, Glendon; Jackson, Hulme, Hanks.

And Scott Beck reveals why he had no hesitation in putting his brother Shaun up front alongside Wales and Liverpool legend Ian Rush in his dream team.

What’s been the highlight of your footballing days so far? Winning the Welsh Alliance as player manger of Greenfield.

Who has had the most influence on you as a footballer and in what way? My dad. He always took me to play football from the age of seven and I had the privilege of playing under him when he took over as Flint Town manager.

What’s the funniest thing you’ve seen or been involved in on a football field? I don`t think everyone found it funny at the time but Greenfield against Barmouth and the pitchfork incident was memorable.

It was blown totally out of proportion and I have even had the national press on the phone to me!

What do you find to be the most difficult aspect of playing football? Marking a winger with pace.

If you could pluck any player out of the Premier League to play in your team who would it be and why? Virgil Van Dijk. Colossal defender who would make a difference to any team in the world.

Which football team do you support and what’s been your favourite moment watching them? Liverpool – Istanbul 2005, I had to give my ticket up though, I was getting married in Mexico at the same time!

If you could change one rule in football what would it be and why?The offside rule. Too many grey areas.

What’s been the most memorable match you’ve played in and why was it so memorable? Greenfield v Nefyn in quarter final of the Cookson Cup . We were a league below at the time and went 4-0 down inside 20 minutes. But we pulled of a dramatic comeback and won 5-4 in extra time.

Who’s been the best player you’ve played with or against? My brother Shaun, played with him for years at Flint and also against him for Greenfield. His loyalty to Flint was maybe his downfall, I have no doubt he would have scored plenty of goals at a higher level.
