BUCKLEY TOWN boss Dan Moore and Rhos Aelwyd regular Aled Robertson are the latest local footballers to go under football’s spotlight.

Moore has bragged up Connah’s Quay Nomads’ captain George Horan while Robertson has picked a star-studded team, including Lionel Messi and the two Ronaldos.

Here’s Moore’s top-10 take in our footballing questionnaire.

1 What’s been the highlight of your footballing days so far? Winning promotion to the Cymru North. Nobody thought we were in with a chance before the season started.

After relegation the year before, we had to build an almost completely new squad so to win it as we did topped off a great season and I’ll never forget that feeling.

2 Who has had the most influence on you as a footballer and in what way? As a player, Ken March, he was my coach for three years at University. He used a good blend of different leadership styles and opened my eyes to different ways of playing the game tactically.

He had a set of non-negotiables, he never labelled them as that, you just knew what they were through his actions, and he stuck to them and implemented them fairly across the group.

The best compliment I can give to Ken is that the players who didn’t want to play for him were the lazy ones who weren’t willing to put in the work.

3 What’s the funniest thing you’ve seen or been involved in on a football field? Not very funny for the opposition, but I once tipped a shot around the post against Montgomery and the referee missed it. We won 3-2 after being 2-0 down, their captain got sent off for dissent but we had a laugh about it after the game.

4 What do you find to be the most difficult aspect of playing football? Not playing.

5 If you could pluck any player out of the Premier League to play in your team who would it be and why? George Horan without a doubt, if you are talking Cymru Premier. I watch a lot of Nomads games, whenever I see him play his levels remain the same.

6 Which football team do you support and what’s been your favourite moment watching them? Wrexham, There’s a couple of moments - the LDV Vans win and staying up on final day of the season against Boston.

7 If you could change one rule in football what would it be and why? I’d just like to see offside as offside, like it used to be.

8 What’s been the most memorable match you’ve played in and why was it so memorable? My first team debut at Buckley. We played Airbus in the Welsh Cup. We got beat but it was a good experience and came up against Phil Molyneux who is now playing for us!

9 Who’s been the best player you’ve played with or against? With: Mitch Booth. Against: Scott Quigley, I’m still running after him now.

Top team (all Buckley Town past and present players): 1: Farai Jackson; 2: Jimmy Harrison; 3: Matty Hughes; 4: Derek Taylor; 5: Geoff Hinchcliffe 6: Gareth Edwards; 7: Aron Williams; 8: Aaron Edwards; 9: Graham Randles; 10: Rene Pinard; 11: Dean Hardstaff.

Here’s what Rhos’s Robertson had to say.

2 Who has had the most influence on you as a footballer and in what way? Huw Rowlands. He’s been my manager throughout my youth and most of my senior career.

3 What’s the funniest thing you’ve seen or been involved in on a football field? A certain manager not willing to give the referee his correct name then the club secretary receiving a letter from the Welsh FA asking what role William Shakespeare had within the club.

4 What do you find to be the most difficult aspect of playing football? Not getting booked.

5 If you could pluck any player out of the Premier League to play in your team who would it be and why? Sergio Aguero to boost our goals for column.

6 Which football team do you support and what’s been your favourite moment watching them? Leeds United. Beating Manchester United at Old Trafford in the FA Cup when we were in League One.

7 If you could change one rule in football what would it be and why? Not having to wear the same colour tape as our socks.
