PETER CROUCH kicked off what could be a great way to pass the time during lockdown.

The former Liverpool and England striker named his top team of Peter’s and we want Leader readers to do the same.

Sports Editor Nick Harrison and deputy Tom Norris have named theirs and we want to hear from you.

Include yourself in the team, pick a squad of 16 and send them in to: nick.harrison@newsquest.co.uk

NICK POPE (Burnley): Ousted two England number ones at Burnley and surely he's good enough to take the gloves from Jordan Pickford?

NICK RICHARDSON (Chester City): Good enough to play the wing-back role, Richardson was an intelligent player with an eye for goal.

NICOLAS OTAMENDI (Manchester City): Not had the best of seasons but not had the best of co-partners in that dodgy back line.

NICK HARRISON (Isycoed): Leave the tackling to the rest, giving me the chance to ping the ball around Glenn Hoddle style.

NICOLAS NKOULOU (Torino): Cameroon defenders are not to be messed with and Nkoulou definitely falls into that bracket.

NICOLAS TAGLIAFICO (Ajax): Left-sided Argentina defender who plays football the 'total' way for the Dutch masters.

NICKY BUTT (Manchester United): Shame he was in the same class with Paul Scholes. Butt will have plenty of games to show his class in this team.

NICKY BARMBY (Tottenham): Great player who will always put in a 90-minute shift, score goals and make them too.

NICK POWELL (Stoke City): As long as we don't make it into the Premier League, Powell will always score his fair share of goals from midfield.

NICOLAS ANELKA (Arsenal): The free-scoring Frenchman would have no time for his mood swings because he'd be scoring every week.

NICKY WILLIAMS (Plas Madoc): No matter where he's played over the years, fox-in-the-box Williams has always appeared in the sport pages of The Leader.

SUBSTITUTES

NICOLAS PEPE (Arsenal): Can't believe The Gunners forked out £70m for him but he'd be a great impact substitute.

NICKY WEAVER (Manchester City): Good keeper who played his part in City's revival back up the leagues

NICKY FORSTER (Reading): Another quality striker, who knew how the find the back of the net.

NICKY SPOONER (Chester City): Had a brief spell with The Blues and could play right back or centre back.

NICK HENCHER (Wrexham): Had to get another Wrexham player. Scored a belter on his home debut at The Racecourse.

BOSS: Nick 'Chopper' Harper (Marchwiel Villa): Would have been good enough to get in the team but showed his managerial expertise in leading Villa to Welsh National League glory in 1991.
