DEAN KEATES' second new signing of the January transfer window comes highly recommended by a Racecourse legend.
Attacking midfielder Dan Jarvis scored on his Reds debut in Saturday's 3-0 win against Woking after signing an 18-month contract.
Jarvis arrived from Stoke City where he played for the Championship club's under 23 side, managed by Kevin Russell, a former striker and assistant manager at Wrexham.
Although he doesn't want to pile too much pressure on Jarvis, Keates, who played under Russell and ex-Wrexham captain Darren Ferguson at Peterborough, feels he has unearthed a real talent who will give the Reds' relegation fight a boost.
"He is an attacking midfielder, he creates things for other people, moves the ball well, has decent passing range and what he has shown in training so far, he has scored a fair few decent goals as well," said Keates.
"He has worked with Kevin the last few years and he thinks the world of him.
"The characteristics that I want at the football club, he ticks all my boxes and I think he will be a perfect fit for this football club.
"That is without adding pressure to the kid. He is not going to come in and be an absolute world-beater straight away, he has got to find his feet.
"But I have no doubt the fans will enjoy watching him."
