SION TUDOR JONES feels victory over Llanfair United has “changed the dynamics” for Corwen who will entertain Llandudno tomorrow full of confidence and belief.

A 3-0 success against rock-bottom Llanfair, courtesy of goals from Tom Mann, pictured, Dale Davies and Owen Cordiner, lifted Corwen to within three points of safety on New Year’s Day. And having picked up a first win in almost two months, boss Jones knows his players are ready for visiting Llandudno.

“The confidence and belief is back,” said Jones. “I’ve said that if you are organised and work hard that you will get what you deserve and with our perseverance we managed to get three points against Llanfair.”

Jones was delighted to secure a third win of the campaign on Wednesday, but he is striving for improvements - however minor.

“We weren’t completely at our best, but we controlled the game,” said Jones. “Our discipline was good, we kept a clean sheet, scored three goals and got all three points.

“The only reason I say I wasn’t 100 per cent happy with the performance was because we could have scored three or four more goals.”

Llandudno head to the War Memorial Ground in 11th place, nine points clear of the drop zone, and Jones is expecting a tough test.

“I was at Porthmadog earlier in the season and Llandudno beat us 4-1 and I know their manager Matt Jones well,” said Jones, who hopes to add a handful of new signings this month.

“They will be organised, physical and a difficult side to play against.”

Scott Evans is the only absentee for Corwen.

Elsewhere, Llanrhaeadr entertain Guilsfield, while in the Cymru Premier, Caernarfon head to Penybont where a win will secure a top-six spot.
