AKIL WRIGHT wants Wrexham to continue the winning habit because the midfielder is sick of players having to apologise to supporters after losing.

Wrexham's latest defeat came on Saturday and the 2-1 reverse at fellow strugglers Ebbsfleet United left them bottom of the National League - the club's lowest ever position - with just 20 points from the opening 23 games.

However, Dean Keates' side kicked off the second half of the season by beating Eastleigh 2-0 at The Silverlake Stadium on Tuesday, with the first away win of the season leaving the 21st placed Reds two points adrift of safety.

And after the players did their talking on the pitch, Wright, preparing for this afternoon's home game with high-flying Solihull Moors, wants more of the same in the fight against relegation.

"We are man enough to admit it was terrible in the first half of the season," said Wright.

"We apologise to the fans every week after we lose and it gets boring.

"They don't want to hear that, they want to see results and Tuesday was something we can kick-on from.

"The season starts now but we have got to do our talking on the pitch."
