Steve Halliwell hopes his Gresford Athletic side can hit the jackpot and claim a much needed three points this weekend.

The Colliers’ Director of Football headed to Las Vegas last week to celebrate his 40th birthday, but returns in time for Saturday’s Cymru North clash at home to Conwy Borough.

A 2-2 home draw with struggling Llangefni Town last weekend kept Gresford 12th in the Cymru North standings and Halliwell has stressed the importance of taking maximum points against Borough.

He said: “I definitely feel that we need to be picking up a win on Saturday.

“We need to turn these points we’ve been gaining into wins because it’s fast becoming a relegation battle and every single point is massive.

“So a win on would be brilliant for us all. We are playing well, but at times we haven’t been able to hold onto a lead, which most certainly needs addressing.”

The hosts are buoyed by the return of central midfielder Adam Hesp and striker Aaron Edwards.

Josh Griffiths is also back in contention after serving a one-match suspension.

Basement side Llanfair United head to Gwynedd as they chase an elusive first win of the season at Bangor City.

Llangefni can move further clear of the relegation mire with a home victory over sixth-placed Llanrhaeadr YM.
