A week after competing in the Wales’ Ironman Challenge, FC Queen’s Park boss Dave Evans wants his side to flex their Welsh National League title muscles in Saturday's Premier Division clash at Chirk AAA.

“Tristan Wagner has returned from his vacation in France and Andrew Elms and Levi Roberts are back in contention,” said Evans, who is without Sean Dodd.

“Our aim is to stick as close to the leading pack over the next few league games as we look to find a settled squad.”

Chirk AAA were down to the bare bones last Saturday, fielding only 11 players and no subs against the same opposition.

Chirk manager Mark Holmes welcomes back club skipper Phil Pearce and likely to be making his debut is Callum Taylor, who has arrived from Cefn Albion.

Leaders Brymbo will be looking to strengthen their grip at the top but they have a tough test at in-form Llanuwchllyn.

Boss Phil Hudson said: “Jordan Deer, Vita Mbolokele, Jack Ford and Ashley Hughes are all missing but we welcome back full back Nathan Wilson.

“It will be a tough league encounter that we will have to be at our best to take the points.”

Should the leaders slip up, waiting in the wings to take over at the top are Rhostyllen.

They go to Llay Welfare with manager Warren Duckett able to recall Kev Roberts, Rob Gibson and Ash Ryan. But James Trigg, Lee Killen and Lewis Clamp miss out.

Llay manager Mike Gadie (pictured below) said: “The only casualty we have this week is Liam Hughes but Azz Aby, Ryan Merrill and Tom Wells are back

“Rhostyllen are one of the in-form teams so we will have to be at our very best to match them.”

Holywell Town boss John Haseldin takes his team to Brickfield Rangers, who have solved their goalkeeping crisis by snapping up Ben Roberts.

“It’s going to be another good test for our new group to see where we are at,” said Haseldin.

“Away from home, you have to be defensively solid and earn the right to play and that’s what we will look to do.

“We have picked up a bit of momentum and its important we keep that going now, while still looking to improve every week. We are likely to be without Shaun Tuck, Charlie Hughes and Jason Renshaw but thankfully, I am able to add Iwan Rogers, Paul Williams and Phil Lloyd.”

Cefn Albion will be licking their wounds after last week’s disaster in the Welsh Trophy as the holders were knocked out by Lex XI

Jimmy Jones and Daniel Holland return for the home game with Saltney Town while Alex Williams and teenager Kane Frost will be pushing for a starting role.

Rabih Jumaa, Josh Atkin and Warren Kelly have joined a growing injury list but Ste Chiocchi returns from honeymoon and should play a part in the game along with Max Hawkins.

Penycae’s Caylyn Spencer broke his ankle in last week’s controversial Welsh Trophy defeat at Greenfield so manager Ben Heath will be looking for a change of luck at home to Castell Alun.

“Our opponents have just had no luck it seems this season but we will we hoping to add more misery I’m afraid,” said Heath.

“Connor Kendrick is back from illness and so is Andrew Swarbrick from a successful summer playing cricket.”

The Colts are yet to pick up a point and will be without Rob Darlington and Arthur Doo. Top scorer Nathan Davies, Josh Coleclough, Dan Woosey and Ben Bailey all return.

Rhos Aelwyd recall James Rumsey and Iolo Hughes for the home game with Mold Alex whose manager Mike Cunningham revealed: “Steve Watkins and Kevin Day look likely to come back into contention if both can shake of injuries. Lee Jones, Mike Woodward and Joel Griffiths also return.”

In Division One, Coedpoeth United face Rhosllanerchrugog and manager Karl Fenlon said: “Andy Pryde will have a part to play and we need to take our cup form into the league.

“There’s loads of competition for places and the players know I won’t hesitate to bring lads in if I detect someone isn’t doing their job.”

Rhos chief Jock McLellan said: “Last week’s reversal was on the back of four first team lads pulling out on the morning of the match and another turning up injured. You have to play lads that haven’t played for a couple of years but we hope to be back to full strength.”

Halkyn and Flint Mountain take on New Brighton Villa and Kirk Russell is available after re-joining the club from Caerwys.

Captain Jake Williams and Marty Howard are both suspended while fresh from their Welsh Trophy success, Villa manager Dave Roberts has a selection headache with James Beck, Jack Heppleston and Ste Orsler all back.

Ross Sumner and Jack Leonard-Gill were involved for the first time last week and keep their places but defenders Leigh Griffiths and Jordan Dorrington are both unavailable for the trip.

Llangollen Town boss Phil Winsper is without new signing Sam Giles for the home game with Lex XI. Ben Realley, Gwil Keddie, Chad Humphries and keeper Ben Lloyd return.

James Gibney and Zack Davies are banned for Lex but skipper Phil Stott is back and Seb Kidd is set to make his debut.
