WREXHAM will certainly have been happier than Connah's Quay Nomads after the Scottish Challenge Cup fourth round draw was made.

Bryan Hughes' Reds, who beat Ayr United on penalties at the weekend, have been handed a second successive home tie as St Mirren Under-21s head to The Racecourse next month.

In contrast, Andy Morrison's Nomads, who beat Cove Rangers 1-0 on Saturday, will have to continue their quest to better last season's runners up finish on the road, the Flintshire outfit handed a trip to Partick Thistle.

Scottish Championship outfit Partick are managed by Gary Caldwell and have former international Kenny Miller and ex-TNS defender Steve Saunders in their squad.

Wrexham's National League rivals, Solihull Moors, are to host either Ballymena or Rangers U-21s, while Tom Holland will look to get revenge for former club TNS as his current team, Waterford, face Stenhousemuir.

Other ties: Arbroath v Clyde; Airdrie v Elgin; Raith v Glenavon; Inverness v Alloa.

All fourth round ties are due to be played on the weekend of October 12/13.
