It was a case of job done for Cefn Druids as they eased into tonight's fourth round draw with a 3-1 success at Ynysddu Welfare.

The Ancients have come unstuck against lower league opposition in cup competitions in recent years, but there was to be no upset this time around.

Dean Rittenberg and Naim Arsan had Druids in full control by the break, and although Jamie Russell reduced the deficit, Jordan Evans made the game safe with a heavily deflected free-kick late on.

Druids boss Huw Griffiths was pleased to see his side progress from what could have been a tricky tie on a cramped artificial surface.

"It was a very, very professional performance, especially in the first-half" said Griffiths. "I'm not sure they got in our half during the first 45 minutes and the only disappointment was that we weren't further ahead.

"They had a go in the second-half and scored from a corner, which they'd clearly worked on, but we must have had 80 per cent possession.

"It was a case of job done. There is always a casualty or two at this stage of the competition and it was important we weren't one of them.

"It wasn't a 4G pitch as we know it, it was small and narrow, so it was good to get the win and get into the next round."

The New Saints are safely through to round four after Christian Seargeant's hat-trick sealed a 3-0 success at Cwmbran Celtic, who missed a penalty.

Hat-trick hero Seargeant said: "We are into the fourth round and that's the main thing.

"We want that trophy back."

Aberystwyth Town also progressed as they beat hosts Cwmamman United by the odd goal in seven.

Ashley Ruane bagged a second-half hat-trick after Porya Ahmadi had opened the scoring for Nev Powell's Aberystwyth.

James Bryan (2) and Chris Allen made a game of it for the home side.

Barry Town United needed extra time to finally see off the challenge of Penybont 4-1.

Macauley Southam-Hales' opener was cancelled out by Luke Borrelli as Penybont held on for the additional 30 minutes.

But Barry ran riot in extra time, Jonathan Hood, Mo Touray and Louis Gerrard finding the net for Gavin Chesterfield's men.
