It was a case of Deja Vu as Huw Griffiths declared himself frustrated by Cefn Druids' 1-1 draw with Newtown.

James Davies' first-half goal looked set to hand Druids a welcome home win, but Luke Boundford's last minute header earned Newtown, who also missed a penalty, a share of the spoils.

Griffiths, who saw Davies miss a guilt-edged chance to double the lead, reflected: "It could have gone either way.

"They did really well in the second-half, but we stopped them playing in the first-half and countered really well.

"James has scored and missed a one-on-one, choosing to lop the goalkeeper instead of placing it under him, and we've also not taken a three v one chance.

"But they've missed a penalty...it's frustrating. We've had the better chances and made rash decisions at times.

"It was quite an even game and they have put us under pressure at times, but without really creating clear cut chances."

Griffiths, who has now seen his side go four games without victory, continued: "It's frustrating. Those extra two points would have got us a step clearer of the bottom teams.

"I thought we'd possibly done enough, but then they've scored two seconds before 90 minutes was on the clock.

"It's disappointing."

Newtown boss Chris Hughes felt a point was the very least his side deserved for an enterprising performance at The Rock.

He said:"I think we probably had enough chances to win two or three games.

"Druids always carried a threat on the counter-attack, the more and more we pushed forward it left us open and they've had one or two good chances.

"But to score with two minutes to go and to have that belief to go on and try and win the game shows what we are about.

"The players were fantastic to keep going, keep plugging away and keep asking questions, and eventually we got our just rewards.

"If we hadn't got anything it would have been a travesty."
