MOLD B ended Hawarden's winning run in style as they cruised to a 7-1 success in Division Two of the North East Wales League.

Lili Thomas and Elaine Pierce were amongst the winners for Mold, the outstanding duo beating Carol Hughes and Alison Hulley 21/9, 21/7 at second ladies.

Rossett B were also in fine form as they saw off the challenge of Holywell A 6-2.

One of the two Holywell victories saw Nicky Garnett-Hughes and Anne Booth combine at fourth mixed to defeat Dave Lovatt and Marie Jones, 21/19, 21/19.

In Division One, Flint Phoenix continued their winning run with a 7-1 success at Llanferres, who saw the husband and wife pairing of Jane and Dave Clough combine to beat Andy Gibbons and Zoe Moorcroft, 21/15, 22/20.

A rejuvenated Deeside upped their game to get the better of visiting Denbigh A 6-2.

Denbigh's player of the match, Steve Aylott, and partner Bev Dolman overpowered Henry Carrington and Cerys Brackenbury at first mixed, 21/9, 21/8.

Talented youngster James Maddocks and Chris Preston combined to help Mold C record a 3-3 draw with Llanferres C in Division Three.

Player of the match Maddocks and Preston, who showcased some fine net play, beat Gareth Davies and Sam Harrison, 21/15, 21/14.

Flint C, led by the experience of Dave Stretch, wrapped up a convincing 7-1 home success over Prestatyn B.

The lone Prestatyn success came as Michaela Lawton and Ruth Salisbury defeated Catrin James and Gemma Browne, 16/21, 21/14, 21/18.
