JD Wetherspoon will open six new restaurants across the UK in September 2026.
The pub chain already has more than 800 venues across the country, but now more will become available for pubgoers.
It’s not the first time Wetherspoon has opened pubs in 2026, with several new ones opening so far this year, including in Cornwall, Bath, and Blackpool.
It comes after the company opened its first overseas venue last year at the Alicante-Elche Miguel Hernández Airport.
Wetherspoon confirms 6 new pubs to open in the UK in September
Now, Wetherspoon has confirmed the location of its next 12 pubs, including six in September.
Wetherspoon pubs opening in September are:
- The Marshfield Bank Farm House, Crewe (Coppenhall Lane, Woolstanwood, CW2 8SD) – September 1
- The Red Gown, St Andrews University (Students’ Association) – September 4
- The Heath Hotel, Southampton (Beaulieu Road, Dibden Purlieu, SO45 4PW) – September 8
- The Belle Vue, Manchester Airport (Terminal 2 (Airside)) – September 15
- The Cranborne Hundred, Ferndown (Ringwood Road, BH22 9BB) – September 16
- The Fletton Brick, Bedford (Marsh Leys Cottages, Kempston, MK42 7FY) – September 29

- The Benjamin Franklin, Charing Cross (11 Strand, London, WC2N 5HR) – November 24
JD Wetherspoon puts pub bans in place for customers
JD Wetherspoon has banned customers from playing music or taking calls on speaker after complaints that the noise was driving people “nuts”.
The British pub chain announced that it had introduced the ban across its 792 pubs earlier this month, saying sounds from smartphones and tablet computers had become an “increasing problem in recent years”.
The company said in a statement: “Following complaints from customers, who are being driven nuts by other people’s videos and amplified phone conversations, Wetherspoon has asked customers to switch their phones to silent or to use earphones.”
Wetherspoon chairman and founder Sir Tim Martin said: “In a world dominated by other people’s music and amplified sound, Wetherspoon pubs are an oasis of tranquillity and contemplation.
“In order to avoid customers being driven chicken jalfrezi by a cacophony of sound, we are kindly asking phone users to pipe down.”
