ROADWORKS at Abermorddu will be concluded this week which will be followed by 'minor footway' works.

The Leader previously reported that Flintshire County Council appointed Alun Griffiths (Contractors) Ltd to carry out improvement works at the A541 Abermorddu and Hollybush Junctions.

As part of these improvement works, resurfacing works will be carried out along the A541, Wrexham Road, from Abermorddu Junction to the Flintshire/Wrexham border.

Works started on Saturday evening of June 5 and were set to finish the morning of June 14.

The road leading through Cefn y Bedd has been closed to traffic between 7pm and 6am but access to properties and frontages were maintained.

Flintshire Council has since confirmed that the highway works at the A541 Abermorddu and Hollybush Junctions are expected to be concluded on June 15.

Katie Wilby, chief Officer Streetscene and Transportation said: "This will now be followed by some minor footway and signage works in the area prior to the traffic signal installation, which is scheduled to commence on June 28, 2021."
