A GASTRO pub in Chester will be closed this week due to the rising number of Covid cases in the area.

The White Horse, based in the grounds of Chester Racecourse, will reopen its doors on Monday, June 28.

A number of bars and eateries across the city have been forced to temporarily close recently as a direct result of the increasing number of cases linked to the Delta variant.

In a message on its Facebook page, The White Horse said: "Thank you to everyone for all the support on our decision to temporarily close The White Horse due to rising Covid cases in Chester.

"We will now be reopening from 12pm on Monday 28th June, and our diary is open!

"The health and safety of our team & guests remains our number one priority, we look forward to welcoming you back safely on the 28th!
