Christmas is on its way, and there’s plenty to look forward to in Wrexham this festive season - including free parking!

Whether you’re looking to get ahead with your Christmas shopping, enjoy a festive day out or simply soak up the atmosphere, Wrexham city centre will have something for everyone.

And with free parking available on selected dates throughout the festive period, it’s even easier to make the most of everything the city has to offer.

Residents and visitors can enjoy free parking at all council-operated car parks during the festive period, with the exception of Ty Pawb, making it easier to visit the city centre for Christmas shopping, festive celebrations and days out with family and friends.

From November 26 to December 24, free parking will be available at the following times:

  • Sunday – Thursday: 3pm until midnight
  • Friday and Saturday: 9:30am until midnight

Visitors driving into Wrexham can now also benefit from digital parking signs that display the number of available spaces at participating car parks.

The signs provide drivers with up-to-date parking availability information, helping them decide where to park before reaching their destination.

What’s on in Wrexham this Christmas?

There’s plenty to look forward to as Wrexham gets into the Christmas spirit, with a fantastic programme of festive events, markets and activities taking place across the city.

Hit 1990's band East 17 will be in the city to assist with the Christmas lights switch on taking place at Eagles Meadow Shopping Centre on Saturday, November 14.

There will also be plenty of traditional festive markets to enjoy, as well as family-friendly entertainment and opportunities to pick up those all-important gifts.

Support local this festive season

Christmas is an important time for local businesses, and visiting Wrexham is a fantastic way to show your support.

From independent shops and traditional markets to cafes, restaurants and high street favourites, the city centre offers plenty of opportunities to shop, eat and enjoy time with family and friends.

Councillor Mark Pritchard, Leader of Wrexham Council said, “Christmas is a fantastic time to visit Wrexham, and we want to make it as easy as possible for residents and visitors to come into the city centre, enjoy the festivities and support our local businesses.

"By offering free parking throughout the festive period, we’re encouraging people to make the most of everything Wrexham has to offer, from our independent shops and restaurants to the Christmas markets and entertainment.

"It’s also important to remind people that Blue Badge holders can park for free in council-operated car parks all year round.

"We want Wrexham to be a welcoming and accessible city for everyone, and I hope people will take advantage of these arrangements and enjoy everything that’s happening this Christmas.”
