A number of businesses have opened and closed across Wrexham and Flintshire in recent weeks.
From new bakeries and independent shops to the closure of established businesses, there have been several changes to high streets across the area this autumn.
Among the new arrivals is The Olive Tree Delicatessen, which opened at 59 Hope Street in Wrexham on Monday, October 19.

Run by Ola Wlod and Ewa Dlubak, the business previously operated in Llangollen for around a year before the owners decided to relocate to the city centre.
The shop offers a selection of cakes, pastries, sandwiches and cheeses, with plans to introduce more products in the future.
Elsewhere on Hope Street, longstanding menswear retailer Ragazzi has opened new premises after more than 30 years of trading in Wrexham.
The business has moved into a larger unit as part of its continued investment in the city centre.
A new family-run candle shop has also opened at Chapter Court, BL Family Candles, selling a range of handmade beeswax products.

Additionally, dog owners in Wrexham have also been given a new option, with the arrival of a self-service dog wash facility offering a 24-hour service on Rivulet Road, outside Paw Pit soft play dog centre by local dog walker Donna Lines.

In Flintshire, a number of new businesses have also welcomed their first customers.
Quirky Ability, a social enterprise gift shop, has opened in Greenfield, selling handmade and locally produced gifts.
The business also aims to provide opportunities for people with additional needs to develop their confidence and gain workplace experience.
Meanwhile, The Borough Bakery has opened on Chester Road in Flint.

Run by the Blackwell family, who are already involved in other local food businesses, the bakery offers freshly baked bread, cakes, lunches and hot drinks.
However, several businesses have also announced their closures in recent weeks.
Baking supplies business Whisk Me Away in Ty Pawb, owned by Wrexham mum Hayley Maggs, confirmed it would be closing on October 31st, after funding was withdrawn, with customers sharing messages of support following the announcement.

Independent gift and homeware shop Creu also announced plans to close its Wrexham city centre premises on Hope Street.
Creu is set to close at the end of January, 2027, after three years of operation. The shop, owned by Sophie Jacobsen, faced challenges such as rising costs of living, changing shopping habits, and competition from online retailers, making it difficult to maintain profitability.

The announcements come alongside the formal dissolution of a number of companies registered across Wrexham and Flintshire.
According to Companies House records, 44 companies registered in the two areas were dissolved during October.
Among them were Fire and Frost Ltd in Pontblyddyn, Owl Accountancy Services Ltd in Caergwrle and Alignment Engineering Consultants Ltd in Gresford.

Other companies listed included Dyfrdwy Solutions Ltd in Wrexham, AJ Soulsby Ltd in Ewloe, 3 Mad Men Ltd in Wrexham, Foliage Nursery Ltd in Bangor-on-Dee and Calico Wellbeing Ltd in Ewloe Green.
However, being dissolved does not necessarily mean a business closed during October, as some companies may have stopped trading before they were formally removed from the register.
While some businesses have said goodbye, the opening of new shops, bakeries and other independent ventures has brought fresh additions to towns and communities across Wrexham and Flintshire this autumn.
