Readers have been recalling fond memories of the time they and their families and friends spent at a Wrexham pub that sadly no longer exists.

A number of our much-loved pubs on our patch have sadly disappeared over time.

That is why The Leader has been taking a look at some of our pubs from the past individually, recently focusing on the likes of The Potter's Wheel in Buckley.

Our most recent trip down memory lane though took us to the Red Wither Inn, which used to be based at Wrexham industrial Estate.

The pub was known for being a proper workers’ boozer, priding itself on lunchtime pints and after-shift chats.

It had been a familiar stop for those who kept the industrial estate moving on a daily basis before closing in the early 2010's.

Many of you have some great memories of the Red Wither. Here's what you have been telling us about it ...

Bev Fox said: "Used to be "the" place to go on Saturday night."

Barry Daniels added: "A lot of Dunlop workers used it back in the day!"

Paul Sturman told us: "Played gigs there in ‘86 and had a ball."

Peter Hughes said: "Chicken curry and a pint after work on a Friday with some games of pool and a cheeky pint on our lunch break."

Daz Evans added: "Some great nights in there over the years. Top pub."

Shian Lewis-Brookes recalled; "My late husband took me there to celebrate my birthday just after we met. Such memories."

Keith Rowlands said: "Worked at Limpet Labels in the 90's to 2000 and called in most nights on the way home. Sylvia had it then, good times, good pub."

Beryl Gregory added: "I remember when Mr and Mrs Dodd ran the pub."

Caz Jones told us: "Went there with the girls from Consolidated Chemicals on our dinner break."

Mike Williams recalled; "Last went there May 18th, 1991 after watching Spurs beat Nottingham Forest in the FA Cup final!"
