PHIL PARKINSON thanked supporters for the 'brilliant' backing he received that has strengthened his resolve to deliver a successful season.
Wrexham bounced back from the disappointing 2-1 home Championship defeat to West Brom last Tuesday by beating bottom of the table Preston North End 4-1 at The Racecourse on Saturday.
The loss left the Reds at the wrong end of the table and with pressure on Parkinson but Wrexham took out their frustrations on Preston to move up to 14th.
Parkinson got a big show of support from Wrexham fans before kick-off and it's something he appreciates as he aims to mount another promotion challenge this term.
"The supporters have been outstanding for me and all my family ever since I've stepped foot into the club," he said.
"They know I care a lot about the club, but I've had brilliant support and I appreciate that a lot.
"I'm very, very determined to make this a good season and I'm very confident we will have a strong season.
"We've had, and it's good to mention the injuries when you've had a win, probably the worst run of injuries we've had since I've been at the club.
"A lot of quality has come out of the team and you go to any team in the Championship and take seven or eight quality players out of that team and the level of performance is going to dip.
"But it's about us finding a way to get wins, like we did against Southampton and like we did today, and make us effective as a team.
"I am looking forward to the week's training."
Parkinson was determined to put things right following defeat against the Baggies and he was delighted with Wrexham's response.

"Obviously when you lose one at home, of course (it's tough)," added Parkinson.
“I’ve been a manager for a long time, I’ve managed over 1,000 games, and I’ve enjoyed the challenge of it.
“Defeats hurt as much as my first ever defeat when I was Colchester manager, which is good, because you don’t want to ever accept it, but you kind of get rid of the disappointment quicker.
“The next thing is the challenge of the next game, and the staff and the players have all risen to that brilliantly.”
