A WOMAN has been fined after a failing to respond to police over an alleged Wrexham speeding offence.
Lynnette Doyle, of Lugsmore Lane in Thatto Heath, St Helens, appeared at Mold Magistrates Court on Monday.
The 52-year-old admitted one offence of failing to provide information relating to the identification of a driver.
Prosecutor Alun Williams told the court that on May 1 last year, a Fiat vehicle was clocked travelling at excess speed on the A483 in Wrexham.
Doyle was written to by police in an effort to identify the driver, but the defendant did not respond - despite being sent reminders.
Representing herself at the hearing, Doyle conceded that she had not updated the address registered against her licence with the DVLA.
"Yes," an emotional Doyle said, "I am guilty.
"It was by omission; not understanding that I needed to follow the steps."
The defendant said she was at the time in the process of moving from "horrendous" flats to a new home.
"I was just so relieved to get out of there," she said, "it never registered with me to change the address.

"I apologise. I should have done better."
The Magistrates handed down six penalty points and ordered the defendant to pay a £461 fine, £130 costs and a £184 victim surcharge.
She was warned to "drive carefully" as, owing to the three points already on her licence, she is now driving around on nine points.
