A construction firm that built themed hotels at Legoland and Alton Towers has entered administration after 35 years.
Mansell Building Solutions claim to be 'one of the UK's longest established and most experienced' businesses at providing metal frames and finishings.
But this morning [September 4] a notice in the public record revealed it appointed an administrator last Thursday [August 27].
The 35-year-old firm's most notable project is their work on Legoland Castle Hotel, Berkshire, which features Lego-style bricks and turrets.
They also worked on the CBeebies Land Hotel featuring Postman Pat and In The Night Garden-themed rooms at Alton Towers, Staffordshire.
Administration occurs when a business can no longer meet its debt obligations.
Christopher Ratten and Gareth Harris of RSM UK Restructuring Advisory LLP have been appointed as administrators.
Mansell Building Solutions' Linkedin page, which has more than 6,000 followers, says they have between 200-500 employees.
The firm was founded in 1991 by Ted Mansell as a plastering firm and became Mansell Finishes when the demand for steel framing and finishing increased.
Their website says Ted passed away in 2018 but his family continued the business and it celebrated its 30th year in 2021.
Its adds that the family business is filled with 'proud Mancunians' given its history in the region and its headquarters still being listed as being in Oldham, Greater Manchester.
Their website describes multiple residential developments they've worked on across the UK and explains their aim to reach net-zero carbon emissions by 2038.
Other notable works include the 7,000-capacity entertainment venue Aviva Studios in Manchester and the Royal Birmingham Conservatoire music school.
Some of the company's specialities are listed as metal stud partitioning, dry lining, suspended ceilings, lightweight steel framing systems and off-site pre-panelised frames.
