Men are being urged to take charge of their health at a free prostate cancer event.
The Prostate Cancer Awareness and Screening Day will take place on Saturday, September 19, from 10am to 1.30pm at the Spire Yale Chesney Court Outpatient and Diagnostic Centre in Wrexham.
Designed to raise awareness around prostate health, the event will offer free PSA blood tests and access to expert advice in a relaxed setting.
A spokesman for Spire Yale Hospital said: "Many men put off discussing their prostate health, often because they don't know what symptoms to look out for or when to seek help.
"This free event is an opportunity to learn from experienced specialists, ask questions in a relaxed setting and take a proactive step towards better health.
"We would encourage men across Wrexham and the surrounding areas to take advantage of this valuable opportunity."
Prostate cancer is the most common cancer in men in the UK, yet many remain unaware of the symptoms and risk factors.
The awareness day aims to offer reassurance and information to help men make informed decisions about their health.
Attendees can book a complimentary PSA blood test during a 10-minute appointment with a healthcare professional.
Following registration, Spire Yale Hospital’s Private Patient Coordinator team will arrange individual appointment times.
The event will also feature talks and Q&A sessions with consultant specialists covering prostate and bladder health, symptoms, diagnosis, and the latest treatment options.
Mr Basharat Jameel, consultant urologist, will deliver a talk titled PSA Explained: Understanding Your Risk and Making Informed Decisions.
Mr Mohamed Yehia Abdallah, consultant urological surgeon, will speak on Understanding Urinary Symptoms and Modern Treatment Options.
Consultants will explain potential warning signs, when to seek medical advice, and available treatment pathways.
The event is open to the public and is particularly relevant for men over 50, those experiencing urinary symptoms, or anyone concerned about their prostate health.
Men with a family history of prostate cancer may also benefit from attending.
The screening day will take place at Spire Yale Chesney Court Outpatient and Diagnostic Centre, Rhyd Broughton Lane, Wrexham, LL13 7YP.
Spaces are limited and booking in advance is essential.
