Josh Jones, Last One Laughing star, appearing in Chester

Jones was announced last week as part of the line-up for Series 3 of the hit BAFTA-winning comedy show, joining some of the biggest names in British comedy including Lee Mack, Katherine Ryan, Harry Hill, Richard Ayoade and Jon Richardson.

But before viewers see him trying to keep a straight face on Prime Video in 2027, he’ll be bringing his stand-up to Chester as part of Rooftop Comedy Club on Wednesday night.

Hosted by Danny Mc, the monthly comedy night has quickly become a firm fixture in Rooftop Social Club’s events calendar, bringing established names and some of the UK’s best comedy talent to the city.

This month’s line-up features Josh Jones, Eshaan Akbar and more, with tickets priced at just £15.

The comedy night kicks off a packed September at the city-centre rooftop venue, with Moonlight Flicks outdoor cinema screenings also continuing throughout the month.

Musical favourites The Greatest Showman and Mamma Mia! are among September’s screenings, alongside the new Michael Jackson biopic Michael. Rooftop Social Club will also host a special charity screening of Bridesmaids, raising money for Breast Cancer Now.

A spokesman added: “There’s plenty more happening on the Roof throughout the month too.

“The Big Fat Quiz on the Roof continues its regular Sunday evening run, while families can get involved with the Big Fat Family Quiz on the Roof on the first Sunday of every month, with the next taking place on Sunday.

“Sunday mornings also start a little differently at Rooftop Social Club with Wellness Sundays, bringing local PTs and fitness coaches to the rooftop to host a rotating programme of classes before the venue gets into full swing for the day.

“From stand-up and outdoor cinema to quizzes, fitness and fundraising, September is set to be a busy month on the roof.”
