PHIL PARKINSON suggested some of his players could have been affected by transfer speculation in the defeat to Birmingham City.
Wrexham suffered a first Championship loss of the season after going down 2-1 to Blues at The Racecourse on Friday night.
The Reds boss was particularly frustrated with the defending for both goals with two headers from centre-back Phil Neumann sealing victory for the visitors.
Neumann opened the scoring in the first half when Wrexham were second best and although Callum Doyle equalised shortly after the break, the Birmingham man took advantage of more poor defending to register his side's first win of the campaign.
Parkinson has completed five new signings this summer - Anthony Patterson, Danny Imray, Jacques Ekomie, Issa Kabore and Ben Whiteman - and more additions are expected to be made before the window closes on Tuesday with Wrexham linked with a host of potential targets.
With players also expected to move on to make room for fresh faces, Parkinson feels transfer talk might have had an impact against Birmingham, particularly in the first half.
On possible incomings, Parkinson said: "As it stands at the moment, I'm processing this game and I'm going to have a chat with all the staff. Then we'll decide what we're going to do over the next few days.
"But there's so much speculation about players coming in and going out, I'll be glad when the window closes because it doesn't matter what team is on the pitch, we've got to be aggressive in the key moments in games of football and we weren't tonight.
"Of course we will be endeavouring to improve what we've got but I think a bit of uncertainty in the camp, players coming in, rumours of this, has that affected us?
"I don't know. It looked like it in the first half tonight because I just wanted to see more belief in us.

Birmingham win leaves Wrexham still waiting for first Championship victory
"If you look at the Watford game, when I watched it back in the cold light of day taking the emotion out of it, we played well and we should have won it.
"We had some slack moments on the ball, but that can happen, but in the main against a decent side, we played well.
"But when you concede goals like that, it can knock the stuffing out of you and I felt it did tonight because the lads aren't stupid and if a team's worked a great bit of play and someone's scored a brilliant goal, then you can kind of accept that.
"But when you're handing opposition goals, that's very frustrating."
