TOASTING to the last days of the summer season, The Ivy Collection and Penhaligon’s partnered to host an exclusive golden hour reception at The Ivy Chester Brasserie on Thursday.
Set against the backdrop of the restaurant’s stunning outdoor terrace, the intimate evening brought together some of Chester’s most recognisable faces for an evening of golden summer celebrations.
The rainy weather was ignored as guests came together to celebrate the latest big-name addition to Chester.
Among the guests were local VIPs and business owners from Chester, who were invited to sample The Ivy’s Golden Summer menu’s well-loved dishes, including Brioche-Crumbed Chicken Escalope, Flamed Halloumi with Golden Grains and Heirloom Tomato with Watermelon.
As this menu comes to an end on September 1, this weekend will mark one of the last chances to indulge in the mediterranean flavours of Euro summer before the season changes.
Niall O’Sullivan, general manager of The Ivy Chester Braserie, said: “What better way to celebrate a wonderful summer at The Ivy Chester Brasserie than with a send-off on our terrace filled with canapés from our Golden Summer menu and stunning fragrances from Penhaligon’s.
“We were delighted to have been able to welcome some of the city’s most recognisable faces for the evening as well as host some of Chester’s amazing local businesses.
“But of course, as we bid farewell to the end of summer, we are also excited for the change in seasons and everything it will bring to the restaurant.”
From delicious food to beautiful florals, the event centred around Penhaligon’s latest summer fragrance “The Manoeuvres of the Baroness”, with its notes of orange blossom, Chantilly and sandalwood replicated in the surrounding floral display, as well as through a bespoke cocktail and dessert designed to complement the fragrance perfectly.
The signature cocktail, The Art of Influence, was a delicate blend of Italicus with orange, rosehip and nettle, topped with Prosecco.
Meanwhile the dessert canapés, The Baroness Macaroons, saw white chocolate and orange blossom ganache paired with diced citrus peel, orange zest Chantilly cream and smoked with red sandalwood chips.
The Ivy Chester Brasserie has enjoyed a golden summer of sunny terrace moments since its opening earlier this year, as it continues to cement itself in the heart of Chester.
