A FAMILY fun day that was defeated by the heatwave, is set to return this weekend.

Ahead of the new season, Wrexham Foresters is looking forward to holding its Football Festival fun day at Plas Coch, in Wrexham on Saturday, August 29.

The free event, which runs from 10am-7pm, is open to everyone and has been designed to celebrate the start of the new season. The festival was originally planned to take place in June but extreme hot weather meant that it had to be postponed.

The festival combines friendly netball and football tournaments with all sorts of family fun, including entertainment, games, bouncy castles, food stalls, and local crafts. There will also be the opportunity to find out more about joining the club as a player or supporter.

Adam Alfi, Wrexham Foresters' chief officer said: "We are looking forward to welcoming the local community to our Football Festival. We are excited for the new season, and we would love as many people as possible to come along and find out more about the club and our future plans."
