The closure will affect the B5101 Southsea Road in Southsea, between its junction with Forge Road and its junction with B5430 Church Road.
The affected section is 205 metres long.
This temporary prohibition of through traffic will begin on Monday, September 7.
Lewis & Hunter will carry out the work for Wrexham County Borough Council.
The order is expected to remain in place for six working days, until September 14, or until the work is finished.
It can remain in force for up to 18 months.
Vehicles will be directed along a signposted alternative route.
The route uses B5101 Southsea Road, from High Street to Brymbo Link Road, then B5101 from Brymbo Link Road to Broughton Road, Lodge, B5101 Kent Road, B5101 New Road and B5101 Railway Road.
Drivers will then use B5433 Station Road, B5433 High Street, B5433 Hill Street and B5433 Wrexham Road, followed by B5433 Gatewen Road, B5101 Berse Road and B5101 Windsor Road.

Pedestrian access will be maintained throughout the closure.
The restriction will enable carriageway resurfacing by Lewis & Hunter.
