A print leader has achieved one of the highest leadership qualifications in the UK.
Keith Brazier, head of print operations, production planning and pre-press at MM Packaging Deeside, completed the ILM Level 7 Diploma in strategic leadership and management in just 10 months.
The qualification is equivalent to a master's degree and is the highest level offered by the Institute of Leadership & Management.
Mr Brazier said: "When this qualification was suggested to me, I knew it would be a significant challenge.
"It had been quite a long time since I'd undertaken formal study, and because of the level of the qualification there was definitely some apprehension, but I wanted to keep progressing and prove to myself that I could do it."
His career in print began 27 years ago after completing a BA (Hons) in graphic design, choosing an apprenticeship route that would allow him to learn practical skills and grow within the industry.
Since joining MM Packaging Deeside, he has played a key role in driving operational improvements and supporting projects across MM Group’s international sites.
The diploma required Mr Brazier to demonstrate strategic leadership through major business improvement projects, many of which have delivered measurable benefits for both MM Packaging and the wider MM Group.
He said: "I'm incredibly proud to have completed it.
"More than anything, it's reinforced the importance of always pushing yourself and remaining open to learning, no matter what stage of your career you're at.
"It's helped me develop as a leader and given me a fresh perspective on how I approach challenges, people and decision making."
His accomplishment also reflects MM Packaging Deeside’s commitment to employee development and career growth in manufacturing.
Mr Brazier played a central role in re-establishing the site’s apprenticeship programme, which helps nurture young talent in the industry.
Since its relaunch, eight apprentices have successfully progressed through their training under his guidance, with more expected to join in the near future.
He said: "Apprenticeships provide people with real opportunities to learn, develop specialist skills and build long-term careers.
"Not everyone knows what opportunities exist in our industry, but there are fantastic careers available for people who are willing to learn."
