MICHAEL WILLIAMSON is looking forward to seeing which areas for improvement and development at The Racecourse will be "unlocked" once the new Kop Stand is completed.
Work is well underway to make the iconic north Wales stadium four-sided once again and CEO Williamson revealed he hopes the stand will be open fully for the start of the 2027-28 campaign, taking the capacity up to around 18,000 seats.
Some facilities in the Wrexham Lager Stand, such as the changing rooms and players' gym, will be moved to the Kop which will have the tunnel area leading onto the pitch, freeing up space in the Wrexham Lager Stand.
While some season-ticket holders will decide to take up the opportunity to move to the Kop, Williamson says the focus will be on improving areas and facilities for supporters in the other stands once it is fully operational.
And he says that is the objective before deciding on the next major development project, as there is the possibility to expand the other stands and further increase the capacity of the Racecourse.
"One of the things that we did when we looked at the Kop, it was about future proofing," he said.
"The benefit is that we can focus on the Kop now, but we also know that when we designed the Kop, it was with the understanding that we could start to explore other areas of the stadium and continue to try to improve on all that.
"Once the Kop is open and operational, there is a little bit of a jigsaw puzzle at that stage.
"It's trying to figure out not just what the overall kind of development is, but there are things that will be unlocked as a result of the Kop.
"The player services area will go into the Kop, there will be a footprint for a club shop at the Kop.
"What does that mean about the current player services area that's in the Wrexham Lager stand? What does that mean about the gym that's in the Wrexham Lager stand, now that we're putting the new training facilities at Colliers Park with a gym in the training pavilion?

"These all become nice, kind of jigsaw pieces to have, but we need to figure out where do people move?
"What if current season ticket holders in the Macron Stand, Tec stand and Wrexham Lager stand decide to move into the Kop stand, and what does that mean about the hospitality areas that are in those?
"Before we look at the next steps of major redevelopment projects, there's a lot of smaller projects that we need to take on during that process once the Kop is up and running to improve in different stands based upon what is opened up as a result of the Kop being open.
"We are thinking about all of it, but we need to open up the Kop and see what transitions over and what doesn't to be able to allow us to say, 'okay, now how can we best use these other areas'?"
