A Wrexham day nursery has been praised for its 'excellent' care and development in a recent inspection.
ABC Day Nursery Ltd, located at Gwastad Hall, Cefn-Y-Bedd, was inspected by Care Inspectorate Wales (CIW) and Estyn in May 2026.
The nursery provides full day care for up to 45 children aged between six months and four years old.
Inspectors found "nearly all children confidently choose their own resources which enable them to make effective choices and develop their play successfully."
They also noted that "nearly all children settle well and feel secure as they play happily alongside their friends."
The report highlighted the nursery's 'excellent' care and development, stating that 'practitioners support children's health and well-being very well.'
It was noted that practitioners maintain high standards of hygiene, record children's allergies carefully, and keep comprehensive records of children's individual details and health care plans.
The report also praised the nursery's 'excellent' environment, stating that "leaders ensure the premises are welcoming, friendly and provide a positive environment for children to play."
The learning environment was described as 'outstanding,' with plenty of space for children to move around and resources that promote play and provide purposeful opportunities to develop children's skills.
The nursery's leadership and management were also rated as 'excellent.'
Inspectors found that "leaders provide a clear strategic direction and set realistic expectations that focus firmly on creating an environment in which children can thrive."
The report also noted that the nursery has 'robust procedures for the safe recruitment and induction of staff' and provides 'high quality professional development for practitioners.'
The nursery was found to have no non-compliance issues during the inspection.
The report concluded with a recommendation for the nursery to continue on its improvement journey.
The nursery will now draw up an action plan to address this recommendation.

The nursery is open from 7.30am to 6pm, Monday to Friday, and provides a flying start service.
The setting is English language, but is working towards providing an 'Active Offer' of the Welsh language.
